Steven is a singer/songwriter based in Seattle, Washington. His songs have been recorded by artists ranging from the legendary Harry Belafonte to melodic rock stalwarts including Starship (with Grace Slick), Little River Band, and Mickey Thomas with Over the Edge, and have also appeared in two long-running television series.
Beyond his writing, Steven is on a mission to be a “conservatory” for classic songs of the great singer/songwriters from the mid-60’s through the late ’70’s — an extraordinary period of poetic introspection, social consciousness, and unforgettable melodies. His solo performances include a mix of his own songs and ever-popular folk rock classics from some of his major influences, including Paul Simon / Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Richard Thompson, Neil Young, The Beatles, and an occasional nod to the Great American Songbook of the Tin Pan Alley era.
"Words make you think a thought. Music makes you feel a feeling. A song makes you feel a thought."
Steven is interviewed on Stereo Embers, the popular music podcast hosted by St. Mary’s College professor and music journalist Alex Green. Listen here.
